Alyssa (She/Her)
Lead Registered Veterinary Technician
Alyssa is a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician who brings over a decade of hands-on animal care experience to the GLVH team. She began working with animals in 2015, starting in boarding facilities, doggie daycare, and training, before transitioning into the medical side of veterinary care in 2016. Since then, Alyssa has worked across a wide range of settings including general practice, emergency hospitals, specialty surgical centers, ICUs, and rescue organizations.
Alyssa completed the Sonoma County Junior College Registered Veterinary Technician program in 2024 and earned her RVT license after passing her boards in August of that year. She is also Fear Free certified and has completed Animal Behavior College courses, becoming a licensed dog trainer. Her diverse background allows her to approach each patient with both medical expertise and a strong understanding of behavior and stress reduction.
When working with clients, Alyssa prioritizes clear, compassionate communication. She believes that the best care for pets starts with ensuring pet parents fully understand and feel confident in recommended treatments, recognizing that collaboration and trust are essential to helping animals thrive.
Outside of work, Alyssa shares her life with her husband, Storm, and her two dogs: Otter, her soulful 7-year-old pit mix, and Gus, an energetic hound/pit mix puppy with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Alyssa deeply values the bond between people and their pets and believes the world would be a better place if everyone experienced the unconditional love animals provide.
Alyssa joined GLVH excited to share her knowledge, support her teammates, and be part of a compassionate, dedicated veterinary team.
